So Still, My Love

So still, My Love,
but even so,
you seem to me to be in motion.

So still, My Love,
but in the way of a springing-off point
when the runner has passed by.

I will always love you,
and will always be the mother you need,
as long as (whatever it is that is me) exists.

So, still my love,
no matter these passages,
I love you and send my soul in the easy draft behind you,

my constant runner,
my only heart,
my adored and beautiful boy.

  1. Tears for you both, and may these words bring you some comfort--they are beautiful as a silver mirror reflecting the love that was.

  2. I am undone and weeping from the beauty of your poem and your love for your beautiful boy. I love "I will always be the mother you need", that gives me some comfort for my own lost boy. Your closing lines just did me in. I am so right there with you, Shay, in this loss, which is greater than some might understand, to souls who have hurt like we have, and whom only these beautiful creatures ever fully wholly loved, the way we always dreamed of being loved. Your bright-hearted boy still remembers you. He will be close by.

  13. Yes, the stillness is hard to explain. We had our Moxie put down at our house. My daughter and she kept eye contact to the very last moment - nose to nose. And then - silence. Chelsea closed her eyes, wrapped her up (insisted on her face being exposed as they wanted to wrap it up) and carried her out, gently placing her in the van. I remember every detail - it was all in slow motion for me. I am tearing up right now thinking of it. The locket means everything to Chelsea (I actually bought two for her as if she ever lost one … well, she would be ballistic. I have ordered yours and I will ship it as soon as I get it. I truly hope you like it.

Hugs… Bosco is running free and patiently waiting for the day you two will be together again - I really believe they have a "get into Heaven free" card. Hugs.
