That said, there surely is some complaining about marriage equality here and some sexist joking (unless, of course, the abuse is a come-on in consentual play).Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05723639294340760325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3107838361391025851.post-85797324666914967342012-11-19T09:31:45.042-05:002012-11-19T09:31:45.042-05:00need to re-read this a few more times ... each rea...need to re-read this a few more times ... each reading leaves me wanting moreDarylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08241795455748298624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3107838361391025851.post-86034589633792614102012-11-19T07:52:09.868-05:002012-11-19T07:52:09.868-05:00Wow, Shay. I think I'm remembering it correctly. Ed Sullivan was aghast at the lyrics "Let's spend the night together" and demanded they sing instead, "Let's spend some time together." Of course, Mick stuck to his guns, and Sullivan said they'd never reappear on his show.

That really ended their career, didn't it!Sioux Roslawskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17924021828536277618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3107838361391025851.post-89992880935020129542012-11-18T23:45:10.532-05:002012-11-18T23:45:10.532-05:00The "ring me" stuff has to do with the f...The "ring me" stuff has to do with the fact that the girl you're talking to has rings on her fingers when she "rings" you---big fat ones. This poem is a bit mysterious for me, though I think we often ring like bells from the reverberations or blows of others. Thanks for the factoids on that Doors song, too--I doubt it would have been the FM hit it was with Hit Me as the chorus, but I like it that way better, somehow.hedgewitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13090696134322515899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3107838361391025851.post-23397290753217308462012-11-18T13:26:28.527-05:002012-11-18T13:26:28.527-05:00Ring me babe-
