Do My Exciting Prompt!

Do my exciting prompt!
Drop what you're doing--
Drop the kid, he's ugly anyhow.
Drop the job, ditch the boyfriend.
Come back early from your stupid vacation,

Let's do MY prompt, not YOUR prompt.
Yours is meh, mine is wow,
cos mine is mine.
Try to keep up!

This is going to be so cool!
First, learn Albanian.
Get secret clearance.
Join the Order of The Camellia.
Sell your house.
Shave one side of your head.
Go like this.
No, like THIS.

Don't forget rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules rules and etc.
It's easy!
Get a degree in my prompt.
Take out a student loan.
Sell your ass on the quad,
Do whatever it takes!
Do my exciting prompt!

Partner up.
Pony up.
Just do it!
It's sort of like Zenga and sort of like being hit on the head.
It's like falling out of an airplane.
It's sort of like having sex with an alien.
It's sort of like being audited.
Do my exciting prompt!

It's MY turn!
When is it your turn?
Maybe never!
I don't have time.
I don't slum.
I don't join.
Do my prompt!
Do it
Do it
Do it
Do it
Do it!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be able to tell if you don't.

I'm sorry, but this prompt does not include enough exclamation points, smilie faces or insincerity for me, but I adore the adroit use of repetition in the fourth stanza.

Brian Miller said...

i will send you a nice glittery award if you do...and call you perfect...smiles.

If it wasn't for that whole learning Albanian thing...

I was dizzy by the end of your rant ... however I am intrigued.

Is that a two year degree? Four year degree?

I just finished shaving the side of my head ... and completed 'Rosetta Stone's' Albanian tapes. (I refuse to sell my house)

Mary said...

But, but, but, but...would you please repeat the rules, rules, rules, rules, rules?

Sherry Blue Sky said...

Even a good little well brought up Catholic girl eventually finds rules tedious:) I had a good cackle at this.

But which side of my head do I shave? I'm afraid I'll do it WRONG!

Uni says "Do it!"

Oh, you wicked, wicked woman. I'm laughing so hard I might throw a clot.

I was just listening to Annie sing this last night.

I like the part about ...have sex with an alien. You know in some circles I'm considered an 'alien' athough legal and can't speak 'albanianese' :0

Yousei Hime said...

Screw the prompt, I'll take Annie.

Ha! My thoughts exactly. I LOVE THIS!!!! Wish I'd have written it! I get so fucking SICK and tired of the nonsensical, STUPID photos some jackasses post and expect someone to just shit out a poem about it. Oops, I sound a bit mean. xoxo

love to love you baby
love this poem.

love to love you baby

(Tried to send yesterday from my smart fone but it was being all stupid-ass!)

(ps - this is really what I wanted to say here ( , but didn't have the moxie to do it. You am my hero!

Buddah Moskowitz said...

In that spirit, maybe you'd like this?

Shawna said...

I thought you liked my prompt. ;)

Nevertheless, now I can say you've written me a poem. And sometimes hate poetry is more heartfelt than love poetry. So I suppose a thank-you is in order.

Fireblossom said...

^^^LOL, Shawna, it isn't about you; I *do* like your prompt!

Hrumphf. You did not mention ME once. Seems you would at least say something kind about those of us who do not even have prompts, those of us who live in dizzying guilt that we did not do your/hers/his/their prompts this week. Oh well, I see adorable Dewey peeking out from your bookshelf so I cannot stay upset for long! ^:^

I LOVE that song, Margaret. I'm going to have to look up the video. Practical Magic is one of my favorite movies ever; love those girls ... and the storyline, of course.
