Faux Foxes

You three.
Come to me.

Open this box.
Take out a fox.

They are color coded.
Don't tell me you didn't know this.

Now here's something you may not know:
Two are real, one is faux.

Ever wonder how this came to be?
What I'm saying, what I mean,

Is the thing that I most want to say:
ever wonder how a faux fox fffff-finds its way?

Okay, back in the box.
Come back next week--next week, ducks.

  1. It is like a wonderful riddle ,joke, and play on words all rolled into one!!! The best foolishness one could hope for! As always I love this Shay!!

  2. A dip into the old well of appearance versus reality, or so I read, and no one does it better. It's hard to single out anything but I have to say, I am still nibbling with reader's delight at the fifth and sixth couplets. A wink is as good as a nod to a blind fox.

  4. That fffff-faux fox may well end up being around some ffff-ine lady's neck! This is delightfully clever. Thanks for the smile. Heaven knows we all need one!

  5. So we’re getting so good at fake we can’t determine real? So so true...

  6. The one that's fake is the one on faux news. That's my guess.

  7. We need a bit of whimsy these days. Thanks, Shay.

  8. Begging the question--what way does a faux fox wish to find?

  9. A little sinister, this magic/side show. I hope the faux one is faux all the way and not a feat of taxidermy. O the lessons we must learn again and again! Wonderful spacing of sound and silence in the patter.

  10. I like this as a Hop on Pop Dr. Seussian tale.

  11. What does the Fox say? It says faux me baby, keep my skin where it adheres best. Ok, that's not very helpful. I love the Macbethian "You three come to me" with a Seuss fox in socks in a box.
