Plum

Take this silver blade--

Slide it under my skin, let yourself in

My flesh belongs to you;

Red will rise behind closed eyes--

And my heart? Ah well, my heart...

It always belonged to you.

simple, yet effective, the first stanza makes this poem, as then the use of the word 'heart' makes literal and metaphorical sense.

Very lovely poem Shay, sweet
and seductive and the erotic
image you have here is perfect.

Thank you, ladies. I normally only post poems here that I have lived with for a while, but this one I just wrote last night. I'm glad you like it!

Thanks you, WW. I have to be in a certain space to write this kind of poem, but they seem to turn out well. I'm glad you found it so.

"Take this silver blade--
Slide it under my skin, let yourself in" ... Sheesh. THAT is an invitation! Like a letter opener to an envelope.
