For A Southern Girl

I just can't seem to forget her

There's a brick on the accelerator

She lies like leaves off the trees

Every color I can think of

Such pretty words

Soft across my ears

I breathe them deep as they burn;

They bury my fears...

But, in the end, they are dead as anything,

As everything

Except my love.

Let me kiss you goodbye, then;

In an explosion of flames and gas

Splintered wood and shattered glass

I breathe deep as we burn;

They can bury me right here...

In the end, we are dead as anything,

As everything

Except my love.

  2. Thanks my friend. She was such a rat, but I sure loved her.
