mutation

I grew something for you,
even though I tried everything I could think of to kill it.

From the frictionless round of me,
came the product of your asphyxiating embrace.
Behold, serpent, your son
with the doublesharp smile.

Is your surprise because you see him coiled, ready to strike,
or because he has your eyes?

Just totally hissingly excellent,Shay, and every word is a hook, barbed and sharp. Just reading the first couplet made my day, but the second put it over the top.

I'm thinking of just tattooing my head--wigs are so hot...
