patroness of crows and Gypsies,
hear my prayer
and bless our Cherokee kiss
in the asters and black jack--
like anything--
like this.
_______
For Play It Again, Toads #20 at Real Toads. I did Mama Zen's. (well no shirt, Shitlock.)
Sounds kind of like a song. I wonder who should sing it? ;-)
I guess I need to look it up. Black jack? A kind of liquid libation? A type of flower?
ReplyDeleteA little bit of Emmylou is always welcome. If you wrote it and she sang it, it would be a hit, for sure.
Oh yes.. I can hear Emmylou singing this
ReplyDeletepatroness of crows and Gypsies... love that
ReplyDeleteSweet Jesus. This is big-time HAWT!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery line is my favorite, but this is my favorite-favorite: "in the asters and black jack."
[Loved your comment on mine; you make me smile.]
Sioux--black jack is a yellow wildflower or weed also known as burr marigold. The seeds stick to clothes in bunches, hence the "love that sticks" label.
ReplyDeleteThere is a species of not very large oak here also called blackjack(or scrub oak)--I hadn't heard that about the flower. A vivid and sweet taste to your image, and indeed, a song-like lilt as well.
ReplyDeleteI could certainly dance to this,
ReplyDeleteand like it. ♥
Nice one. Every kiss should be blessed.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday
Much love...
Perfect. It reads like a kiss. A very good kiss.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely would be extra lovely with a folksy voice to sing it, but it is very evocative as is.
ReplyDeletehaha.
ReplyDeleteI didn't just read this, I sang it. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful..It certainly sounds like it could be a song.
ReplyDelete:o) I just love this.
ReplyDeleteIf there isn't a patroness of crows and gypsies, there ought to be!
ReplyDeleteyou know i'm a huge fan of Saint Creola and i'm sure she blesses kisses. why wouldn't she?
ReplyDelete♥
I can totally see that! You need to see Emmylou in concert.
