Lune

On the Moon, a girl can be what she wants.
Strangled critics turn blue and bounce away.
White cat on the sun side, black on the dark.
It's all avec fromage at restaurants.
She can spend all day on a roundelay,
and next to nothing on a place to park.
On the Moon, a girl can dress as she please--
skirt to her ankles, her hips, her knees.
Moon ring, moon pendant, moon necklace, moon cuff.
Black leggings with five-pointed stars and stuff.
She is Queen of seas that hold no water,
and boats with sails that nonetheless brought her.
On the Moon a girl can swing side to side
in a silver hammock to charm the tide.
_____

A silly sonnet for your Monday.

I love this. You know the Moon and I have had a thing going on for a long time now--but I don't mind sharing. In my Mother's Moon are many hammocks.;_) A sonnet that shines silver light.

The moon sounds like a wonderful place.. and I don't mind being excluded.. I will have to find my own place to dress as I want.

Neat "Lune" for Moonday with a possibility of unbridled happiness.
(And NOT a development of Disney!) Thanks for the Mary Hopkins too.
Have a great day!

Great jewelry!
A girl's night out on the moon would be great fun, I think.
I've been lucky to find a fellow who makes me feel as if I've flown to the moon. He lets me do things as I like and doesn't criticize, and I do the same for him. We must be doing it right as we've just celebrated thirteen years of marriage.
Thanks so much for visiting us at poetryofthenetherworld.blogspot.com

A girl should visit the moon every chance she gets. This is a great Monday sonnet, even though I didn't get to it until Tuesday.
And I can't help wondering:

Would you like to swing on a star,
carry moonbeams home in a jar,
and be better off than you are...

So wonderful. Oh that I could be Queen of the Moon, or at least Queen of Outer Space.

I'd love to wander around the moon dressed like that - sounds lovely!
