There are two reasons why I love you,
one why I don't.
1. The things you say. You're a silver-tongued devil, such a testament talker.
2. The sight of you spills me, inside of myself. I overbalance, warmly.
And the other?
1. Someone killed us both, but we got up again, hipsway walkers--
One proud, one guilty.
_______
A flash 55 for the cauldron of the fearsome and powerfully magical Hedgewitch at Real Toads.
very interesting
ReplyDeletemuch love...
love that second reason! 😉
ReplyDeleteYes, I like that second reason best, too. Also "hipsway walkers".
ReplyDeleteQuite a twosome!
ReplyDeleteYes guilt can do that.
ReplyDeleteno one gives voice like you, Shay ~
ReplyDeleteAgain you do with 55 words what others can't do with 5500. Love is first of all about affinity, and attraction about the compulsion of opposites to know each other however briefly or incompletely, in that dance. Here you make the convoluted tangle straight and simple, boiled down to that one last phrase...seems to me your own cauldron is simmering along nicely.
ReplyDeleteA good-looking talker will always triumph. The degree of influence makes the difference.
ReplyDeleteHank
A real short story here--short and not so sweet, yet also sweet. Thanks. k.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! Every word. Every word.
ReplyDeleteLove it! This is sort of like Thelma and Louise and Walking Dead all rolled up in one, and yet completely not.
ReplyDeleteDamn, Shay. I have so many things to say about this piece. But you know I'm all about brevity. So ... right on. I think her shirt adds a lot to the story.
ReplyDelete"The sight of you spills me..." is lovely.
ReplyDeleteGotta watch out for those testament talkers.
ReplyDeleteI identify with the guilty one. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteI am making the 'you' be the bike in the photo. it kinda fits.
ReplyDeleteDefeating death, the ultimate empowering act! Well said!
ReplyDeleteOk...I'm guilty. That's the tune I'm singing lately. :)
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteHooked by the pic - stayed for yer words
ReplyDeleteClever little mystery at the end... but I can understand being overly charmed by a smooth talker. So late in commenting but 1st down time I've had all week. Hope the 12 days of Christmas are not too hectic :)
