Thank You

I just wanted to say, THANK YOU, all of you who so kindly commented yesterday. Honestly, I was bowled over. I never expected that, though my two closest bloggy buds did, and regarded clueless me with, I think, a little bit of toldja-so eye rolling. I want all of you to know that you really helped me feel better. So, again, thank you.

I will be back with my poems. I just don't know when. Right now I need to right the ship without thinking about creating, too, although I will continue to update my Objets D'art blog. Nothing stops its fictional author, Babs.

Again, thank you to all of you.

Shay

  2. I think this has become the summer of the unplugging in blogland. Don't worry, we'll be here when you return. (Well, most of us anyway)

  7. I'm glad you feel better, Shay. Of COURSE we'd all be seriously bummed if you stopped posting for good. You are always one of my first-reads. You blow me away with your brilliant talent. Glad to know you will be back when you feel better - rest and recuperate - and slap that damned air conditioner upside the head for me, okay? And give the bike a good thump too, while you're at it.

  9. Every good druid knows sometimes you have to let the fields go fallow, or the crops just get spindlier and sparser, and nothing comes without sacrifice. Plow the bad stuff under--it makes great fertilizer, and bring us a nice tomato or a bloody pumpkin or something when you can. We'll be here.

  15. Hey Shay, not until recently did I find you and I hit a 'gold mind'. I found some golden nuggets, your words, and became much wealthier. I too have ceased, temporarily, from searching and have taken a short reprieve. No one knew that I was here nor do they now know that I am gone but you are a 'gold mind' and your absence is like an astronomical 'black hole', it's seemingly a void yet magnificently omnipresent. We know you're there.

  16. Shay - There's nothing wrong with taking time to recharge. You'll be missed, though.

Just so you know, I visited today specifically for your poetry. My daughter is a high school senior this year, and in language arts they've started them out with some pretty awful poetry. So many wonderful poets to choose from, and they try to entice these kids with something that hasn't been relevant for two centuries. (Love for being on a sailing ship doesn't mean much to a modern teen.) Anyway, because she uttered those awful words ("I hate poetry") I told her, "Hold on. You don't hate poetry. You hate THIS poetry. I'm not nuts about it either. Read some poetry you can relate to, that will make you feel something, then you can render an opinion." So here I am with daughter in tow to let her read your poems that so often open my mind and touch my heart. My daughter will become a lover of poetry. . .and I'll be back to your garden when you return. God bless!

  17. I think Brian M stole my little poem! (unconsciously of course) but this isn't about us - it's about how important you are to us; to me. In my inner world we drink coffee at 3am in Danny's. Rest and reinvent- just don;t disappear!

Shay Shay - don;t stay away!

I know what you mean. In principle I'd like to be writing more (or at all?), but the timing makes it hard.

  19. Earlier this summer the thought of sitting down to a computer to write something and post it 'bout made me feel like puking. Same thing for a wanting to read glogs, I mean blogs.

But glogs are hard to get into sometimes too, especially the Civil War ones. And those penned by naked librarians giving advice on sunflower gardening.

And August f'ing sucks in general. I say go straight from July 31st to Sept. 1st.

  20. Shay,

To be honest, you've amazed me at how long you've continued to write at such a high level.

Everyone needs a break now and then. Heavens knows I've taken my share.

Relax, put your feet up, pet Bosco and recharge. We'll be here when you get back:~)
