Neighbor Dan Waxes Philosophical At Twilight

"Liberty and justice for all,"
says neighbor Dan,
"That's what we had

til those
coloreds,
queers,
spics
and broads

ruined it."
________

for Mama Zen's Words Count at Real Toads. She says write about the election in 20 words or less. I used 21. I broke a rule. *facepalm*

You indeed captured the agony and horror of the rampant bigotry that pervaded this election. Well done.

Neighbor Dan needs slapping up the side of the head.

ha. yes we did, here in the land of rich white men...and sadly this election let us see how far we have not fallen from there...

Funny/scary...ooof.
That's very well captured.

what a guy ... he left out the most influential group: assholes .. the group he is clearly part of

Tragically ... I've known a few of those 'Dans' in my lifetime!

You always say it best ;)

Laughin hard. Agree totally with Daryl about the missing group. Somewhere I'm hearing Archie and Dingbat singing 'Those were the days..."

Yes, very, very funny. But I will raise a concern, and I don't mean this in a snippy way. I am NOT prejudice at all and feel the immigration stance Romney took was not a good one at all.

But... I fear "reverse discrimination" won the day. It certainly is a wakeup call that American's want a change... and I think a third party that blends both would be very, very interesting.

You wrapped this one up and tied it with a bow, Shay, one extra word notwithstanding.
I must admit I don't understand politics and never will, but I started writing 60 years ago and I know you are One of The Best (capitalization courtesy of AA Milne).

Hey, are you in Moreno Valley too? Good capture of the bigotry in my neck of the woods.

You nailed it. Reminds me of my ex, kicking over my Ms magazines and sneering "We were all right till you started thinking you were a Person." I replied, "YOU were all right". "Yeah and I could be again if you'd just quit all your yapping."

I did quit.Him. After two rousing choruses of "These Boots Are Made for Walking" and "Hit the Road, Jack." Never looked back!

Damn, I wish that I had written this!

that's about the sum of what I'm hearing from FAUX.....

now it is OUR turn to be "normal" and their turn to learn how it feels to NOT be "IT."

Hooray for ALL of us!

Yes...the ALL part of that statement sure gets stipulations pressed onto it...so divisive. Nice one Fireblossom.

Shay, way to kick ass and take names. I was mortified at the "Put the white back in the White House" T-shirts, the lynched empty chairs in the front yards of rednecks, and now more calls for assassination. I don't understand why people don't understand the fundamental truth that we are ALL from Africa originally. Or are they scared of that fact? And the homophobes, yeah, pacifist bitch-slap (only in my mind!). LOVE THIS. Keep your passion. Amy

21 words! You liberals all think that the rules don't apply to you! That's what wrong with America today! Back in the day, we knew how to follow rules, whether they made sense or not!
