she wrapped around me,
quick and hot;
I kissed the black tear-tracks of her face--
her ears, and her
flash-fast paws...
If you love a cheetah,
let her know she's the only one--
"til next time," tell her, as she goes,
even though she's already gone.
_______
i like it! 'flash-fast paws'. great imagery.
ReplyDelete"....though she's already gone"......love the cheetah, gotta love the speed (smiles)
ReplyDeleteShorthand for cheetahs ... they need to teach that course in school!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing runs as fast as a cheetah. This really gives a sense of turmoil as well as sweetness, and the brevity suits the mood of rush and flash. Love it, but love it as fast as you can. Yep, been there.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get caught up on reading and dang you've been pumping 'em out! Gorgeous piece of writing...and Joan too?! This post rocks!
ReplyDeleteI love your poem...nothing like a hot Cheetah to get one's attention!
ReplyDeleteWell done
YES!!! Shay, you gotta know...I love your take!!
ReplyDeleteKissing those black tear tracks, telling her she's the only one...you quickly conjure a sharp story and I enjoy the cheetah persona that you bring!
Smiles to you...thank you for writing...apologies for the wait on my side, too.
You know, I still have a poem floating around in this noggin for your last challenge...I never got around to writing it. :/ It could have been good. ;) Thank you for your challenges, Shay...sorry I missed.
This is gorgeous!
