American birds

shake loose your hair.
run your fingers through mine,
like spirits dancing in fire.

lean over me.
take your time, as the hawk does,
or the gentle mourning dove.

do anything you like with me.
i will stay with you,
just as the native grass leans with the wind,

unable to help itself
and not meant to.

  3. Steamy, love it. Jim Morrison oozed sensuality as does this piece. Thanks so much for participating in the challenge!

  5. Woven with such beautiful phrases...spirits dancing in the fire...the mourning doves...takes me from one mood to another. Love your tags too!

  6. Very sensual. The lover gives all of herself. Beautiful.

  7. Shay--This poem brings to mind a summer day. It's too hot to move quickly or exert too much energy, but there's still plenty of pleasure to be found...

  8. Oh, but I loved this, Shay. You know me and birds. :)

  9. I'd rather be a blade of grass flutter in the wind than a mighty oak struggling against it...

"just as the native grass leans with the wind,
    unable to help itself"

I swooned over that line! Hey I have a post almost all about SEBASTIAN on my horse blog :) Hope you get time to enjoy it.
