Meet Zac

Many of you know that I got a new doggy from the shelter last week! His name is Zac. I like to call him Zachariah Mc-- and then fill in one of my long stuffy hyphenated names, like Zachariah McFadden-Fopotopoullos III. He doesn't mind!

It's been hard, honestly, in the four months since my dear Skittles passed far too soon, and my heart has been sore, but little Zac is doing his best to make his new mom smile again! He is a year old pocket shepherd and quite the character. He's a lover, and really likes his walks. Please welcome him!

Here is Zacky's stash, which includes not only toys, but an Eleanor Roosevelt biography which he kept taking off the shelf, and since I had read it, I finally gave it to him, and an old pair of my sneakers. He's living large!

  1. This makes me happy. And he sounds very erudite, insisting on the best literature! LOL. I bought him a wee toy today, to celebrate his arrival...will be on its way to him soon. I love that he is a pocket shepherd - he will be a very intelligent and intuitive critter, I already know. Yay, Zac!!!!!!! You are a lucky dawg. Smiles.

  3. I am so glad to meet Zac! I have thought of you often since you lost poor Skittles and wondered if/when you might try again. Zac is adorable and very obviously full of character. Congratulations to you and him, may you have many happy years together.:)

  5. He is clearly very happy to be with you. And what excellent taste in reading matter he has!

As you know, I now have a new cat after losing both my old darlings who had been with me for many years, since kittenhood. I still miss them, and it's not the same – how could it be? But the new one is a darling in her own way, and the whole process of getting to know and adapt to each other is constantly interesting – which is in itself a distraction from grief.

  12. Shay--Congrats. Zac is one lucky dog. He's in a loving home and if he isn't already, will be spoiled rotten soon.;)

A pocket shepard? Does that mean he will be tiny enough to fit in a small purse?
