Rocker Chick
I don't have a new poem to post, so I'm posting this video which I think is from Austin City Limits. It's Emmylou singing a medley of old rock n roll tunes. I'm definitely lovin' the hand on the hip and the growl! (I swiped the vid from the fine 365 Days Of Emmylou Harris blog). Now it's here, cos it's my blog and i can. *sticks out tongue*
Okay, I'll admit to having a thing for Joan Jett, Annie Lennox and Pat Benatar. It's either the underbite, the rocker-chick thing, or the strong female lead aura...or perhaps it's a mix of things. Either way, I love me the 80's rock...
So, your spirits are on strike? What would appease them, I wonder...What would get them back to writing those poems--the poems that your groupies clamor for?
Perhaps less caterwauling from that Emmylou Harris chick and more good music like Justin Bieber. Wilson Phillips. Hanson. And going way back, Bread.
Get some good tunes goin' and I'm sure those spirits will start writing.
Man, that was HOT! And she couldn't keep her boots on the floor--excellent video. I had all those 45's--i used to play "He's a Rebel" til my mother took it off my cheezy little Sears portable record-player in a suitcase while I was at school and dumped it. (I bought another one.)I haven't felt like dancin like this since I listened to Leon's Queen of the Roller Derby.
And I refuse to share my meds with Brian--let him get his own. :P

ReplyDeleteOoh FB! This was worth running late getting ready for work. :) She is the bomb.
ReplyDeleteHerman--Everybody knows I love Joan Jett, and I love Annie too. Somebody told me that the 80s are over, but I don't believe such obvious lies!
ReplyDeleteBrian--I am keeping the Fukitol under lock and key from now on, and you and Hedge separated! ;-)
Sioux--ExCUSE ME?!? "Caterwauling?" That's quite a list you've come up with. Behave, girl, or I'll sic Herman Turnip on your cd collection.
Pete--Glad you enjoyed!
