Have you ever seen the picture book "Faithful Elephants" before? It's written about a true story, and is read aloud national radio every year in Japan. It's sob-worthy.
check out Ramesh Sood's blog, A Little More than ordinary, he has been haikuing about an elehphant and ant for weeks, very sweet story to follow, an unlikely romantic friendship of sorts...
I love elephants. Did you know they will stop and examine the bones of other dead elephants. I've seen this on T.V. It's like they're mourning the death of another elephant.
When they find one, they put their trunks on the bones, as if kissing them. That gets to me every time.
I think our blogging friendship began around elephant appreciation day, when I posted about seeing the baby elephant at the Oregon Zoo. I might be wrong, however, because I do not have a memory like an elephant. :)
those cookies look delicious..
ReplyDeleteSo..can't ignore the elephant in the room, I guess. Many will celebrate by getting trunk, but I'll just have a peanut, thanks.
