Bakery Cat

On the curtain,
A dragonfly.

On the bedpost,
A streamered hat.

Long red stockings
And a short soft sigh,

The night full and sweet
As a bakery cat.

I wanted to add a video with it, but youtube changed things again and I can't figure out how. If you want to see it, it's HERE. And all of it is dedicated with a wink and a smile to STWIASD!

1987 ~ A great year! Emmylou Harris still among the best of the best.

Fantastic! I loved the images, they were so vivid and complimented the poem perfectly.

I hate when they change like that.

Your poetry hasn't changed - it's still beautiful :-)

You rhyme...You don't. You're serious...You're whimsical. You have a certain cadence...You throw us a change-up.

You continue to piss me off. (wink and a smile to accompany the envy)

A complete image of a complex ( delightfully so) experience, all tied up with a bow in a couple of lines that make you want to hum, if not dance a brief jig. For some reason I am seeing the bakery cat with a Chesire grin.
