What strange gospel
Condemns your sons' happiness?
Reviles your daughters' joy?
How sacred the heart
Which partakes but will not share
Because the fare is different?
How righteous the hand
Which sows judgement and exclusion,
Reaping disconnection and the misery of others?
Behold these holy,
And see them for what they are--
Ravening lions
Devouring their own childrens' hearts.

Vodka Mom, I love fairy tales, and that's one of my favorites. It's a beautiful story. Thanks for reading and commenting. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Gillian! That's certainly how it seems to me. But I can tell you, first hand, that some don't give it a second thought.
Damn, it was over 40 years ago when J. Lennon wrote "All You Need Is Love" and folks STILLLLLLLLLL don't get it!
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand it...
Yes to love in all its wonderful and well-meaning forms.

I have two beautiful daughters, two handsome sons - life has dealt them all different hands. It's hard enough in this life without battling the bigots. Yes, all power to you girl - isn't happiness the true goal? Surely there is only purity if you follow your heart?
