Whee, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The G's

"We are but a moment's sunlight"

In the stylish modern kitchen of God,
we are all just a glass
dropped from the Divine Hand.

All that came before
and all that comes after
stretch immeasurably in every direction--
God's crib is huge.

Ahead of us,
the Italian marble the Divine Dogs tread
will smash our vessel to smithereens.

For now, though, there's this weird fleeting instant
while we're in flight,
very importantly sweating which way we slosh
inside our little temporary capsule.

Very soon we'll be released,
set free to flow in the Cosmic Spill.
Don't worry, He's got cupboards full of Waterford,
and we'll be launched again
like space monkeys.

Until then don't stress, Little Rider.
Just let the vessel rock you like a cradle you can trust
but won't remember
from this time when you are dinky, but growing.
_______

for day 18.

and for Paul's "Write Here, Right Now" goose at Toads.

the quote at top is from the song "Get Together" written by Chet Powers aka Dino Valenti and made famous by the Youngbloods, Jefferson Airplane and others.

Many pardons are begged of the Goddess for my frivolous portrayal of Her as male in this poem.  I'll be doing dishes in the Celestial Kitchen for a year. Or emptying waste baskets in Her corner office on janitorial night shift. I am but a froward fool.

I am strangely at peace with this thought.

  3. As Kerry, I like
"Very soon we'll be released, set free to flow in the Cosmic Spill." Enjoyed this so much, I felt I was floating along in my cosmic bubble with all of you :-)

  4. You are defying physics staying on fire for this long. What kind a fuel's in the tank? It took me the whole poem to get my jaw back up after reading the first stanza. We're all space monkeys on this bus ...

bags of water inside a crystal glass and we worry...An incredible write Shay. In my mind I see Albert, the first monkey launched into space. We all worry too much about our sloshing, I think. We worry too much. Let loose the Divine Dogs...let them bark and prance as they will.

  7. We all know the end of the journey... but not the path it takes... Is it possible to call it stellar if it leads to the stars?

  8. Oh, my goodness. Your mind continues to captivate us with wonders beyond mortal imagination. I dont know how you do it. I am just happy that you do. You amaze us anew with each new poem. I'm not sure why you arent world famous. But you are famous to us.

oh, now that's underhanded, but brilliant. en pointe. (dance woman, dance - shake your money maker)

I'm feeling a low growl eruption for the dogs of war in the back of da throat ...

oh yeah, goose alright, take it right up the goose and give back with a slap, dropped from On High.

Waterford crystal, be damned. Yeah, this is all (not the poem) probably about some other- worldly cosmic fight, over, naturally, some woman-female issue

and sorry, but I ain't feeling much like dancing around the campfire sparking Cumbayah unless it's like this sistah:

  11. That we are growing (if we are) is some comfort.

  12. A favorite song, very ecocative of its time, now gone forever and replaced with plastic that is not fantastic or any kind of lover...I love how you have made us all glass, and I love 'God's crib..' This piece revolves around such a unique metaphor, and is followed through to a divine perfection that is expansive and endearing.

That is so original and creative! I am too vested in my "learning" I suppose to ever think of Him as Her but I enjoy reading others thinking and beliefs. I really enjoyed reading this.
