Paper Wings

Here are candy hearts,
paper wings,
sailing charts, and a thousand things

I made for you
in hopes they'd do--
oh can't you hear

how my paper bird sings?

Just a lovely wistful sweet sad poem. Simple in the most universally human of ways. (And really gives a depth to the drawing, which of course I appreciate!). Thanks. K.

Sometimes the simplest words--at least the way you assemble them--say the most.

How perfectly you have captured the wistfulness of the figurine in the picture.. such sensitivity to longing.

This is childlike and so grown-up at the same time. HTFDYDI?

longing, wistfulness - as the others have mentioned - yet it speaks to the essence of the image - powerful combination

Like the simplicity of your poem, however, it carries depth too, clever. An enjoyable read.

There is an innocence in this. It sparks in me the wing flutter of first infatuation.

The simplicity of total giving, joyfully and fully to your love. Just beautiful.
