die in sequence.
3 funerals in the afternoon sun.
A 3 fingered priest
makes the sign of the cross--
3 children run across the cemetery lawn.
3's a crowd, so they say.
2 will send the third away.
Be civil at the service, for the sake of the kids.
In a 3 room house, I turn 3 times--
let my 3 wishes all come true!
My taxi stays idling beneath the stars outside.
There are 3 things I love most about you:
your eyes, your eyes, your eyes.
3 chances in 4, you'll leave the door unlocked tonight.
3 in the morning, 3 ghosts appear--
famous once, 3 sheets in the wind forevermore.
Now, honey, now's the time to love each other sore.
for Real Toads mini challenge #29.
I was trying to make one of those emoticon hearts for the title, but it wouldn't accept the < and the 3 together, so I had to leave a space between them. It's supposed to be a heart.
Love all the 3's, especially "your eyes, your eyes, your eyes"......ReplyDelete
that is awesome, 3 things: eyes repeated for emphasis. or does she have 3 eyes? never mind, just riffing in the presence of greatness (yours)ReplyDelete
Aloha from Honolulu,
Wishing YOU a super week

I love your fifth stanza, and oh my (flushed cheeks), your last line: "Now, honey, now's the time to love each other sore."ReplyDelete
Well, De La Soul claims that "3 is the magic number". If they're hip to the power of 3, then count me in as well.ReplyDelete
The last 7 words is a gem of a line.ReplyDelete
Well .. damn! It works on FB, that heart thing! Three is a magic number for sure, when you grab hold.ReplyDelete
Isn't it annoying when blogger won't cooperate??? Love the 3 poem. :)ReplyDelete
such a nice way to start the week ... love sore .. sighReplyDelete
I love it at least 3 times if not more.ReplyDelete
I love your innovative approach to this challenge of the three line form. Each stanza has potency as poem on its own, but taken altogether, the piece is a stirring, tender tribute to the idea of love stories.ReplyDelete
A satisfying tale of the magic of threes. Loved it.ReplyDelete
love me 3 times babyReplyDelete
love me twice today
knock 3 times if you love me
ah, love this. <3
Yes, three times from me!!! I enjoyed the way you handled the Toads tercet challenge, Shay. I had the same trouble with the <3 today and what I ended up doing is copy/pasting it from a facebook post because it works that way. :) Nice one Shay!♥ Or maybe it will let you copy this one. :)ReplyDelete
3 times I read this.
3 times I smiled .
lovin' the poem AND the labels!ReplyDelete
This has got to be the coolest take on that prompt! Why the hell didn't I think of this?ReplyDelete
aloha and wow FireBlossom - that is awesome. how will i ever sleep now?ReplyDelete

Rick above me (well, he is not actually above me) said it all in his second line.ReplyDelete
And you said it all in your final one!!!
