Hello my little spring chickens, and welcome to another Word Garden Word List poetry prompt! If you know me, you know that I have been a seamhead since I was 6 years old, and with this week being the opening of a new baseball season, I have chosen an excellent book as our source this time: Mark Frost's Game Six.

The Mick. He had retired by the time of game six. |
Game Six is an immensely entertaining and readable account of game six of the classic 1975 World Series. It delves into the personalities of the players, what made game six so memorable, and is packed with interesting information I didn't know before.

Some of you don't care about the sportsing! |
I know that not all of you care about baseball, but it doesn't matter! Just use 3 or more of the 20 words provided in a new, original poem of your own. Then simply link up, visit others, and then sit back in the sun with a dog and a Coke and enjoy yourself! This prompt remains active through next Saturday.
And now, your List:

Hmmm... three words, three strikes? Is that a coincidence? Any curve balls or knuckleballs in the air?
ReplyDeleteFolly floaters.
DeleteHi Shay. Back tomorrow. Doing my taxes fried what little brain I have left.
ReplyDeleteThat would do it, for sure.
DeleteWho's on First? Wait, what??? Me?
ReplyDeleteThat's right!
DeleteThank you Shay - I've never seen a baseball game - maybe one day! Jae
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful experience, Jae. I hope you'll get to see one.
DeleteIt is very strange where a random list of words takes the brain and the typing fingers. It is sort of like a Rorschach test. Let's just say it wasn't baseball this time. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that. It IS like a Rorschach test! And the theme of one's poem is always completely open here.
DeleteWhile baseball leaves me out in the cold, the words you've chosen, as always, are a perfect pitch to the muse. We'll see if she can hit it or if it's another swing and a miss.
ReplyDeleteMy BFF! You're here! I tried hard to use words that were not baseball specific.
DeleteOK OK, I rank myself #2 ~ after you!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe make a hell of a cheering section, Helen! Pass me those peanuts and crackerjack!
DeleteI've hit a dry spell and I almost struck out this time, but I couldn't resist going for this week's pitch (like last week's, etc., etc.), pitch-perfect word list that is, my baseball fanatic. Alas, I'm afraid I can't chew gum and play ball at the same time, take that as you will. I used to root for the Houston Astros (don't ask me why!) and the Atlanta Braves. I feel a need to catch a game this week, thanks to you. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came through, QCD! But your Bravos are off to a very rough start!
DeleteI struggled with this list like no other so far. I made three different attempts before I finally came to a somewhat of a poem. I so wanted to start the napowrimo with a poem from your list.
ReplyDeleteI am honored, and very glad this week's List did not stop you!
