2 pretty girls

2 pretty girls
lifted morning's veil,
walking where they hadn't ought to go--

down by the fence line
called The Devil's Tail,
just one come back, but she don't talk no more.

  2. Yikes! Eerie, leaves so much to the imagination; and I don't want to go there....

  3. Whoa! You can tell a story, kiddo, in very few words. I especially loved "lifted morning's veil"......

  4. This conjures up all kinds of thoughts, none of them good. (Shiver)

  5. Like my incubus always says--never turn your back on The Tail. I believe that's one walk I'll skip.

even if you leave it just as it is, this is brilliant!

  9. Maybe because its St. Patty's day, I can see an old timer nodding towards a mysterious woman in the corner of the pub. He leans over his pint and whispers these lines to a wide eyed tourist.

  10. Yes, I can see a story in this one. That is what is great about this piece...it leaves you with questions for your imagination to answer and begs to ask for more

  11. Haha! Laughing at Corey's comment! But I know what he means.. you have tantalized us with these lines: an entire story is suggested and left to our imaginations to complete. What was lurking in the woods?

  18. Oooh, Shay, a mystery, or a horror. Scary. So much implied when so little is actually said here. Very well done.

  20. What a perfect mystery you wove, Shay. It's so hard to resist walking where you hadn't ought to.
