For S.

you
my heart
my teacher
fool and angel
whose mighty heart beat itself out too soon

if there are words for how much i miss you
they elude me
but longing
and love
stay.

  3. I also had a tear in my eye, remembering my girl. No matter how long they are with us, it's never long enough. This form was the perfect choice for your message, terse, but hard hitting, and you executed it with just the right touch of true feeling shorn of excess sentiment. I especially loved 'fool and angel.." Perfect.

  4. No one could express this love and loss any better. Dog days are never long enough and they take a piece of our heart with them when they leave. They are true angels!! 💙

  8. I sit here, teary eyes, remembering our Chloe. An English Springer we had to put down way back in 2003. Her arthritis had progressed to the point our vet was hesitant to prescribe heavier meds. Fifteen years we loved her.

Your response to the TEN challenge is perfection, perfection.

  12. It is amazing how much a pet can attach itself to your heart. I still feel sorrow for a cat that died as a kitten almost 50 years ago.
