Word Garden Word List--Jim Morrison

Hello all, and welcome to this week's Word List. This time our inspiration comes from the words of the late poet and rock singer Jim Morrison. This intro will be shorter than usual because yours truly is still under the weather, but I think most of you are already familiar with him, yes?

The List is taken from the poetry collection "The Lords & The New Creatures" and from his song lyrics.

What we do here is to use at least 3 of the 20 words provided in an original new poem of our own. Any style, any length, any structure. Then link up and visit others. So climb aboard the blue bus and show us where you're taking us. Enjoy.

  1. Jim Morrison? Oh yeah, the guy who walked around with Rimbaud in his pocket! 🙂 I love this word list. Maybe too much. It's always harder to write when I want to do it too much. Think Morrison would agree?

    1. Morrison was nothing if not unpredictable, but I wouldn't doubt it.

  2. I will leave my comment first because OMG, you've grabbed my heart. (I agree with above comment) I have that collection of poetry, and he was/is the ultimate poet/musician with a voice like a God and so very far ahead of his time. He deserves a thoughtful poem so first I have to think. Maybe put on The Soft Parade. Thanks

  4. I was going to leave dope on his grave in Paris, but then, well, I didn't have any dope, so I just wandered around a bit, found Oscar Wilde and Chopin, then I left.

    2. Oh, hey, yeah, I forgot. He signed all of his scores "FFC" right?

  5. Managed to finally get this poem poured out of the cauldron--it's only re-reading it that I realize it actually *is* about Morrison. I'll be back to see what everyone else has wrought later.

  7. Fascinating word list Shay. Thank you for providing them. As I read through them, I felt they all needed to be included. This piece then kinda wrote itself, essentially stream of consciousness.
