Aviary

GOD WATCHED A WOMAN SLEEPING

AND, BEING GOD, KNEW HER DREAMS.

FROM EACH BREATH SHE TOOK,

GOD MADE A PERFECT LEAF,

AND FROM EACH RIB, MADE

BRANCHES. WOMAN, WAKE, WHISPERED GOD,

AND WHEN SHE OPENED HER

EYES, SHE WAS MOTHER TO

EVERY EMOTION, EACH ITS OWN

COLOR, A DREAM BIRD RAINBOW

ABOVE HER, SINGING AND FLYING.

So pretty! Much better than the biblical, sexist version :)

that's lovely. except i don't like the 'mother to every emotion' bit. personally that is. i have way too many of them... and they can drive me kaaaa-razy

Hey, you've got questions, I've got answers, Pouty! LOL.

Yanno, Shadow, I actually hesitated over that line myself, but in the end I thought it fit. But I hear ya. ;-)

Thanks, Kristin. :-)

Have you read Clive Barker's Arabat books? You must. This made me think of it and his insane drawings .... at least go to bn.com and look at the book cover .. or Google Clive Barker and look at his Arabat sketches.. awesome .. as is this poem

Excellent 55 Shay.
YOU are a work of art, and all that comes from your mind and heart certainly reflects that.
