Sylvia Plath's TV
Twilight Zone wife turns beautiful over night;
Speaks eastern European languages--
Can train a cat to dance.
Is there a lesson here?
Is there light beyond despair?
Is there?
Twilight Zone wife joins the New York ballet;
Sees the future and the past--
Can bring back your man.
So, I'm asking again...
Is there light beyond despair?
A lesson to this nonsense
Behind her delicately
spreading
fan?

Do do do do, do do do do... lol Glad you went with this one. You've made me think that a lesson, could be secondary to one's dreams. The title makes me think of how Slyvia Plath may be misinterpreted (e.g., as romantic).
I don't think I want my man back ;-)
What's that behind the fan..is it..couldn't possibly be...snark?
Naaaah. Must be my over-active imagination.
(That woman in the pic caught my eye, too--amazing eyes.)
I hope she fines the lesson behind that delicately spreading fan, if she can't, who can find the light beyond despair?
So well expressed, as always. Yes, there's light beyond despair, or we wouldnt still be here. We looked at the oven, but kept our heads out of it:)
Watching "The Twilight Zone" marathon?
I wonder what Sylvia Plath watched, if/when she ever watched television.
O.K. now I know we're on same wave length because of your ref to Prufrock next poem down. I just love your words, shay...xxxxj
You've heard the mermaids singing, Jen? ;-)
Enjoyed this one a lot.
Shay, the Twilight Zone - used to watch it with one eye closed...love the TV title..i have fallen in...and can not get out...bkm
Great poem. I really loved the contrasts. A lesson, most definitely. A light beyond despair, absolutely ... I believe it's just around the next bed.
Beautiful thoughts
No time to comment . . . I've got something in the oven!
Great lesson here...yes there's light in the Twilight Zone!!
Btw, did Mama Zen just reveal she was pregnant? Hmm.
Very interesting and surreal, just how I like it. Great job with the pic prompt, I love how this worked!
This pic intrigued me too..I like the way you pirouetted between the surreal Rod Serling and the uberreal Sylvia Plath. I doubt she watched tv..she lived in w.b.'s house & went crazy not believing in herself. Pity, she could have used a friend like you! Always good writes from you, my friend. Gay @beachanny
...there will always be another sunrise. so i'd have to say, yes!
Seems there's only two possible answers...but my response is yes.
There's something about her eyes that says she's answered the question - and there is light after despiar. Well done.
you chose a photo that had earlier captivated me...a wonderful write and i could sense the era you were portraying through this image..great read..cheers pete
