Because I Can

Darlings, it's me, Babs St. Argent, from the late great Objets D'art blog. I've taken the liberty of commandeering Word Garden this morning because...well, for the same reason I do anything, because I can! There are certain sights I just go mad for, you know. One of them would be Mabel Van Deusen with her arm in a sling, gazing tearfully out at the tennis court as I leave the new pro all tied in knots and making puppydog eyes at me as I reel him in. Not that I want him. I just love to see Mabel suffer!

Oh, now you think I'm a monster. Lambs, I'm as soft and tender-hearted as they come. *titter*

What's that, Cherubs? Why have I come all the way from Pompano Beach just to slum it at Word Garden? Well, because! It seems that Fireblossom has gone into some sort of lesbian fugue after seeing this picture of Emmylou Harris at some blog devoted to same. She mumbled something about Lydia having told her about it. All well and good until she saw THIS picture, began to hyperventilate the way I do when I call the 800 number on the back of my credit cards just to hear the recorded voice say "no limit", and fainted dead away in a heap on her cheap Berber carpet.

Fireblossom, tiresome as she is, did manage to croak out something that, miraculously, wasn't about Ellen or anything immoral, before she passed out. She said that nobody is as cute as Emmylou. Except one. Even with her glasses.

  5. Always good to see Babs drop by with a few pearls of wisdom for us peasants. Also, that's a really cool EmmyLou blog which I've decided I need to follow. Many thanks, O Patroness of the Arts.
